NEW-HOPE DRAMATURGY
Madie's MA thesis is about dramaturigical procedures of "new-hope." New-hope is a concept she has created as an antidote to the current crises we face and as a reaction to the expired-hope that it no longer serves us to hold.
She believes the theatre is the best place to experiment, practice, and find new-hope and so she has created action-based procedures that can be used to create performance rooted in new-hope.
These procedures are inspired by the work of José Esteban Muñoz, Lauren Berlant, Lee Edelman, Jill Dolan, Rutger Bregman, Connor Schumacher, Koen de Preter, Alyson Campbell and Stephen Farrier.

RESEARCH RESIDENCY AT HET HUIS UTRECHT
Below are some videos shot during my artistic research residency at Het Huis in Utrecht, Netherlands.
Here I started bringing the dramaturgical procedures of new-hope out of theory and into a creation process.
